Servant Leader

How I approach leadership: guiding teams through complexity with clarity, empathy, and momentum.

Leadership, to me, isn’t about being at the front — it’s about creating the conditions where others can thrive.
As a servant leader, I focus on listening, connecting, and building trust so that teams feel empowered to do their best work.

Over two decades in technology and operations have taught me that clarity comes from alignment:
connecting people to purpose, priorities, and each other. I’ve led teams through mergers, global office builds, and system overhauls. Always with the same focus: making complexity manageable and giving people confidence in the path forward.

My approach

  • Empathy first: understanding challenges from the team’s perspective.
  • Clarity in complexity: breaking down uncertainty into achievable steps.
  • Collaboration: empowering individuals while keeping the bigger picture in view.
  • Momentum: turning alignment into confident, forward progress.

Highlights

Examples of servant leadership in practice:

  • Guided the merger of two IT support teams — standardising processes, cross-training staff, and building shared trust.
  • Led global IT service delivery for an international law firm, ensuring consistent user experience across Europe and Africa.
  • Built and nurtured teams that could not only deliver under pressure but grow stronger through change.
